President, United Express System Inc: Currently, the ECA Immediate Past President, Brad started United Express System Inc, (Aurora/ Chicago, Illinois) in 1985 with wife, Janice, whom most of the active ECA members know as one of the ladies checking us in at the annual ECA Marketplace. Brad began in the industry in 1983, driving part-time for a now defunct delivery company. Brad recently retired as a Battalion Chief after 31 years with the Aurora, Illinois Fire Department. United Express was created on a part-time basis that turned into very full-time, and is now one of the premier delivery companies in the Chicago Metropolitan Market. Brad and Janice have two daughters, Abby and Kelly. Abby will graduate as a nurse in December 2007. Kelly is a junior in college, majoring in psychology. United Express System was formed in October 1985 when through discussions with local business, industry representatives, and local hospitals in the suburban Chicago area, a need was found for a local messenger company. The rest is history, and United Express System Inc. is now 22 years old. Brad has been very active in the ECA since its resurrection in 1996, when the organization was rescued from the ashes of the ATA. Today, the ECA is a formidable, vibrant and growing association that is very well received by the members, and provides solid value to those who participate. Brad feels very good about the future of the organization and what it will continue to do for shippers, vendors and carriers.
